Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, August 30, 2025 — In a region often defined by headlines of conflict and uncertainty, a new leader is inspiring national conversations and policy change. Qasim, President of the Youth Matters Foundation, distinguished social political activist and policy analyst, is building “Naya Kashmir” by mobilizing youth, reshaping grassroots activism, and influencing policies that are making a difference across the region.
Born and raised in Srinagar, Qasim has become one of the most impactful voices for youth in recent memory. With a strong educational background and a clear sense of purpose, he has organized more than 100 transformative events and outreach programs, directly engaging with communities historically labeled as difficult or militant-dominated.
His deradicalization initiatives, backed by hundreds of volunteers, have provided new hope and direction to thousands. “The youth of Kashmir are not tomorrow’s hope—they are today’s answer,” Qasim said, reflecting his urgent approach to engagement and reform.
Under his leadership, over 7,000 young Kashmiris, including many from marginalized backgrounds, have been empowered to become local influencers, change agents, and peacebuilders. His recent publication, “Unravelling Nightmares: Abrogation of Article 370 Shatters Haven for Terror,” is shaping parliamentary debates and is now regarded as a must-read for policymakers seeking solutions to lingering security concerns.
Recognized with the Youth Icon Award at SKICC in 2022 and invited as Guest of Honour to multiple national forums, Qasim continues to bring Kashmir’s voice to the national mainstream—not just calling for peace, but outlining clear pathways to achieve it.
“Kashmir will not be remembered for what it endured—but for what it built,” Qasim proclaims. His work stands as a testament to what happens when leadership, vision, and action converge.
